The book launch of “Soul Food” is over and what a journey it has been. I have asked many other people along the way for ideas and guidance to help me with marketing and getting my book out into the world. Yet as a self-published author/artist, at this time anyway, it eventually came down to me and my circle of influence.
I thank you all for your attention and taking time to read my posts. I know our days are busy, so if instead of scrolling down the page, you took the time to read my words, I thank you!
And if you helped to spread the word, I thank you for your time, attention and effort. As a first go round, this launch resulted in the sale of 16 books to people in Canada and the United States. And when I see the names of the purchasers, I know the majority. But as my web gal pointed out to me, my ranking as an Amazon Author based on sales jumped from around 3,000,000 out of 8,000,000+ books to 33,000!! Now that’s something to celebrate!
Two of my mentors have shared with me some points that I hold dear. Brendon Burchard reminded me that the launch is just the beginning … I will be selling this book for years. And I know this to be true because there will always be an audience and a desire for the practices within Soul Food’s pages.
So it is about finding the audience and someone to endorse it so it can spread like wildfire out to the world. As another mentor, Mary Morrissey, often says, “it only takes one person, and what if it were easy?”. I hold this vision.
As I return to the city from an incredible weekend away on Vancouver Island, fishing and hanging out in the sun, and cold (and hail!!) … the end of March comes to a close and a fresh new month begins. I know that my work is to continue to make a name for myself … whatever that looks like. But more importantly is to live into my authentic self, having fun, sharing life, creating with passion and being grateful for each and every moment, and what these moments bring.
So I celebrate the launch of “Soul Food”, the sixteen books sold, this life … and I celebrate you!
